Some elements of hemorrhoid cure and prevention were discussed in the Hemorrhoid Risk Factors
section; however, here are a few other things you can do to keep your hemorrhoids quiet:
Regular Walking - Walking keeps the sphincter muscle strong, which aids in the integrity of the rectal walls. Just
as a couch-potato lifestyle makes everything saggy, regular walking tightens everything up. It keeps the blood circulating, so it does not pool
around the rectal veins.
If you consume a lot of sugar in various products, there is an antidote; cinnamon. Sugar causes inflammation, so
you'll want it to metabolize quickly - cinnamon speeds up the process. Incorporated into your daily prevention, this is
a passive way to prevent hemorrhoids, and/or to keep them under control.
This may seem silly, but it works. It is an old-time recommendation from the medical intuitive, Edgar Cayce. Hemorrhoid
pain and aggravation stem from pooling and lack of circulation. He suggests you bend all the way over, fingertips on the ground.
Stand on your tip-toes. This is not all that easy. However, if you can stay in this position for a whole minute
(two is better), you will start to feel the venous blood move and relieve pressure on the hemorrhoids. This can be done anywhere,
when you need relief right now!
Stay away from ice and cold drinks in excess. Everything in moderation. If you have a severe condition,
avoid cold drinks, ice and food altogether.
To keep yourself "lubed", consume (orally) one or two tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil everyday, preferably before bedtime.
When you follow it up with a cup of Oolong or Rooibos tea, it is a perfect "warm, oily" remedy, just what you need for your "cold, dry"
hemorrhoids.
As unorthodox as it may seem, I find the following foods are a sure-fire recipe for hemorrhoids: Potatoes, broccoli, too much
salad, popcorn, sugar, sugar, sugar! Eat lots of nuts - the heavy oil is a hemorrhoid antidote (like the EVOO).
